Our Story
One Last Swipe
Their story began with one last swipe on Dil Mil. They had both nearly given up on dating apps, but somehow, one final attempt led to a match that felt different from the very beginning. (Thank you, Dil Mil. We will never trash you again.)
At the time, Kareena was living in Maryland and Arvin was living in New Jersey. Two separate states, two separate lives, and no idea that one conversation would change everything.
The Message That Started It All
Like all great love stories, theirs began with an Instagram story. Arvin, very impressed by Kareena's long legs, made the bold and beautiful mistake of messaging her about them. Did alcohol play a role? Quite possibly. But whatever gave him the courage, they are forever grateful it did.
What started as casual messages quickly became hours of talking, laughing, and getting to know each other. Even with the distance between them, everything felt natural, easy, and meant to be.
Their First Date
The turning point came with their first date in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Arvin drove several hours from New Jersey, half-expecting an unwilling organ donation situation. Kareena drove up from Maryland praying that Arvin had not lied about his height.
With no reservations, no bookings, and no real plan, they walked into the first bar they saw and somehow found the most beautiful spot right on the water. On a cold winter night, over their favorite drinks and endless stories, what started as a simple first date became the beginning of something much bigger.
What Brought Them Closer
They bonded over family values, childhood stories, shared dreams, and of course, Pokémon. Arvin had always believed he was the biggest Pokémon fan and never thought he would find someone who loved it as much as he did. Then Kareena came along, a little devil who loved Pokémon just as much and still refused to believe he was as big of a fan as he claimed.
Between long drives, constant phone calls, endless conversations, and many more dates, they became best friends.
The Moment They Knew
Many dates later, while watching New Year's fireworks together in a recreation of their first date, they both knew this was it. No more dating. No more wondering. They had found the person they wanted forever with.
The Proposal
On April 4, 2026, Arvin decided to raise the bar and ask Kareena to marry him. Poor Arvin could not plan anything to save his life, but with the help of close family and friends, he created the most beautiful moment for Kareena.
Under the cherry blossom trees with the Manhattan skyline towering above, in a place Kareena had always admired, Arvin asked her to spend forever with him. It was the day before Easter, surrounded by love, spring blooms, and family, that they said yes to each other.
